LoRaWan Snow Depth Sensor
SDM-LW is a sensor for measuring snow depth and weather conditions. The sensor is designed for outdoor use and can be mounted on posts of flat vertical surfaces. SDM-LW is completely wireless and communicated via LoRaWan or LTE (option). The snow depth is measured optically at distances up to 50 meters.
Helping Smart Cities Manage Snow
Starbit’s snow measurement technology can assist smart cities in tracking where snow needs to be moved so that snow removal can be more efficient and citizens can receive better service.
The technology is easy to use and provides accurate measurements of the amount of snow on the ground. By using Starbit’s technology, smart cities will be able to identify which areas of the city require immediate attention and which areas can wait.
The technology is also cost-effective. By using it, you can reduce the cost of snow removal operations and save money for the city. In addition, the technology is environmentally friendly as it reduces the use of salt and other chemicals, which can harm the environment.
To illustrate Starbit’s technology’s benefits, here is an example: Recently, the technology was deployed to a nearby municipality, and they were able to reduce the cost of snow removal operations by 20%. Additionally, the residents were pleased with the improved response time, and the city received positive feedback.
As a conclusion, Anders Nilsson, General Manager of Starbit AB, said, “Our snow measurement technology is an efficient and cost-effective solution for managing snow removal operations. With our technology, you’ll be able to improve service to the residents, save money, and help protect the environment. If you are considering our technology, please get in touch, we’re happy to answer any questions you may have.”
